Triumph Spitfire for the tour “Cum Memorare Marengo”

  • di

Seven crews of the famous English car Triumph Spitfire, belonging to the Italian Registry Triumph Spitfire, will be on the day of August 6, 2020 in Marengo for a tourist appointment at the right distance and strictly outdoors.

The Spitfire spider was designed in 1963 by Giovanni Michelotti, designer in the automotive industry belonging to the Turin school, which made the city the main design center of Europe. His production ceased in 1980, coinciding with his death.

“For over twenty years we have organized 6-7 gatherings a year involving dozens of crews,” explains Francesco Giordana, former university professor and passionate about history and tourism, journalist and communicator who strengthens a link with the Alessandrian territory, already in the past carried out for awareness actions on safe driving.

This meeting between fans of Triumph Spitfire aims to remember the design excellence of the designer Michelotti, combined with the tour “Cum Memorare Marengo” that marks the Napoleonic stages through a tour of different historical points of interest of the city of Alessandria such as: the Citadel, the Plane Tree of Napoleon, the sculpture “Marengò” by Marco Lodola, the Castle of Piovera, the tower of Teodolinda, and arriving at Marengo for the “triumph” of Bonaparte’s troops, victorious over the Austrians.

The opportunity will be great for a picnic in the park of Marengo, and a small outdoor talk in Marinco Curtis for the delivery of certificates of participation.
